Painting Hog's Back Falls from the Bridge

Welcome

I'm a semi-realistic watercolour artist who works on wood, paper or canvas.

My goal is to create a work that shines a light on nature or some aspect of nature that we usually ignore -- or actually damage. I sometimes try to capture a moment, sometimes try to make a point, but always paint feeling and vision rather than what is actually there.

I strive for fresh colours and spontaneous expression, usually adding other media to a work that has begun as a watercolour. This year I've returned to working in watercolour on paper as well as a synthetic paper called yupo.

In addition, funds raised for brain tumour research has just topped $1000, so In 2012 I'd like to continue raising funds for an environmental group, probably Canadian Parks and Wilderness society.

A new gallery, Quinn's of Tweed, has begun to carry my work (www.quinnsoftweed.ca). This gallery carries some very high quality work by the likes of Pissarro, Norval Morrisseau, and Jean McEwen.
